My SoundCloud page has a variety of music audio recordings of pieces performed by me. There are also pieces performed by some of my musically advanced students using the piano in my dedicated home music studio. A good set of headphones or speakers is advantageous and recommended for listening.
As well as being an experienced and highly qualified music tutor, I am also an established composer. My own original piano compositions consist of the following: Opus 1 ‘Reflections Series’ (13 piano pieces); Opus 2 (4 piano pieces dedicated to my wife, Mrs Sandra Spacie) and Opus 3 (4 contemporary piano pieces) all of which can be heard on my SoundCloud page.
I have also played and recorded a ‘Classics Series’ of 20 technically and/or artistically demanding pieces by other composers which also can be heard on my SoundCloud page.
In addition to other pieces such as a Suite of pieces from G. F. Handel’s ‘Water Music’, there is also some music of spiritual depth such as Morten Lauridsen’s ‘O Magnum Mysterium’ [Mis-tare-ree-um], Peter Warlock’s ‘Bethlehem Down’ and Bob Chilcott’s ‘The Shepherd’s Carol’ etc. – all played on the piano by me and can be heard on my SoundCloud page.
Many years ago when I was a student I also studied singing and the organ. The study of the organ gave rise to fluency in the performance of 4-part SATB hymnody, church repertoire, and traditional Christmas Carols etc. as well as skill in playing ‘lighter’ pieces such as the Cuban rhythms in Ernesto Lecuona’s ‘Siboney’ [See-bo-nay] Cuban Carnival Dance or the sheer power of volume in ‘Hava Nagila’ or the indigenous character of ‘Dark Eyes’, ‘Swedish Rhapsody’ and ‘El Jarabe Tapatio’ etc., all of which can be heard on my SoundCloud page. (Incidentally, the organ recordings have strong audio signals.)
Each item digitally recorded by me was done in one ‘take’ without any technological tweaking per se. Also, a big thank you goes out to all those many listeners who have ‘liked’ tracks. (SoundCloud is an international platform.) Statistics are not displayed publicly on my SoundCloud page as all tracks are then presented equally as pieces of music. Moreover, I like to let the music speak for itself and communicate accordingly and for the music to have power rather than the player; thus, I am very much a teacher of music with advanced performing skills and compositional skills: I am not a ‘concert pianist’.
